CLSU - Dizon Multiple Rootstock |
Orchard Demo Farm - Tiaong Quezon |
|
This is an
11-hectare orchard farm where almost all the plants
are exotic fruit trees with multiple rootstock.
Traditional planting and modern technology
introduced by the author are seen here.
Monthong durian as well as native durian is all
fruiting ahead of Davao's. Rambutan from Thailand,
Malaysia, along with the local varieties are
prolific and early bearer because of multiple
rootstock technology. |
 |
|
Rambutan festivals were held here during
the peak season which were enjoyed very much by participants
especially city folks. Lectures and demonstration on the
modern technology of planting and inducing exotic fruit
trees were conducted by the author. |

Longkong, Duku and Paete
lanzones with multiple rootstock are prolific and
even planted at closer distance less than six meters
apart. Mangosteen with double rootstock grown from
seedlings intercropped with coconut are now
fruiting. Two lychee varieties, with slender leaves
are now fruiting at the farm. Other exotic fruit
trees with multiple rootstocks are also doing well, |
|
It would be observed here that
trees of multiple rootstock have outperformed single
rootstock trees in terms of growth and production.
